Hi SMartin,
Looks to be a nice car to play with. Air conditioning also! I can't fully tell from your one picture, but if your inner skirts on the sides of the radiator support are solid, plus the splash pan you will be way ahead of the game. This seems to me to be a bad rust out area on these cars. Bottom of front fenders/front of rockers also.

Nice set of horns!

Thanks for sharing......Lee

Hi all,
My name is Kerry Morgan, 37, from South Wales, UK. I was a member of the old Yahoo forum, it's taken me this long to register here!
I bought my 58 Roadmaster 4 dr about 11 years now, in need of a complete restoration. About 6 years ago I realised just how long it would take to restore it, so I bought a 58 Special 4 dr in silver in the mean time, it now has 35K miles on it. I mainly use it for weddings nowadays, and it always brings smiles to people's faces. I love the 58's, my dream car being a 58 convertible. Once I learn how to use this site, I'll post some pics. I also own a 1960 cadillac 4 dr, and a 1996 Camaro 3.8 V6.

Hello,

My name is Joe Harper, 33 yrs of age, Owasso, OK. I've owned my 58 Super 2drHT since I was 13 yrs old. Bought it out of a junkyard for $200 cash. Kept it all these years, and stored the car indoors. The rolling chassis was built ground-up in during 1990-1992. Ran out of money - I graduated HS in '93 and the car has sat (indoors) until April 2008, when I have finally saved enough to hire the completion of the restoration by a professional. The most significant upgrades are front disc brakes, Old Air A/C & heat, electric wiper motor and an alternator conversion. Other than that, everything will be original. I am in dire need of a rear deck lid if anyone has a lead.

HI Joe
And Merry Christmas!

Very cool car..glad you are getting around to finishing it off.
We'll all keep our eyes open for a deck lid...or a parts car for you.

Keep us posted on your progress.... Whose brake conversion kit did you use?

Merry Christmas and welcome!

Finding a two door trunk lid will be next to impossible - if your trunk lid can be fixed by a good body man, that is the way to go.

Good luck!

I will start by saying that I am 61 years young. Live in El Paso, Texas but have my toys stored in Las Cruces, NM. I work for a Commercial refrigeration company.

I have enjoyed the looks of the B58 for over 40 years. Drove a 58 Special 4 door hardtop first in 1965 that my parents owned at the time. I bought my first B58, a mostly complete 2 door Special 46R at the "new" Pate swap meet in 2004. This car needs lots of work :( floorboards, trunk floor, about all the glass, you get the idea---to most people just junk. Well the parts hunt began and I found a 2 door Super much closer to home and in a little better shape, more complete, :? the same problems with the floors---purchased it anyway for parts. Now 5 years later the shop is full of parts bought over eBay and the cars are still outside waiting their turn inside.

Cars owned:
53 Olds 88
54 Chevy 6500 dump truck
35 Chevy 1 1/2 ton
67 Camaro RS
68 Camaro
70 Monte Carlo
91 Ford F250 Diesel

Hello all, I am not a 58 owner but a 59 owner and like all cars especially Buicks. I'm 62 and attempted a introduction elsewhere but then found this. I have a 59 2 door hardtop, pwr steering, brakes and air. It is a Lesabre with several options. It is running a 66 model 425 from a G/S Riviera and a 400 s/p behind it. I converted the rearend to an open drive by fabricating a 4 link system. Lowered the car approx. 6" by switching out rear springs. It's teal blue/green, Pearl white interior and white scallops from one end to the other. It's a nice driver. Had a guy paint the car for me. He did a good job. First car of my own I have not painted in 40+ years. didn't have the time. I am a construction manager for a pipeline company and work on the road 90% of the time. I am just now putting finishing touches on car and installing interior that another guy did for me. I am a welder by trade and may be able to help with a few things. The rest of the car is garage built by me over a 9 year period. Started out going to be my sons car, but Im so slow he has graduated college, lives and teaches in Costa Rica and I have inherited the car back. I built a 53 Buick custom several years back, just sold a 28 ford closed cab chopped truck to finance my interior. The 28 had a nailhead also. Hope this works as an introduction. I'm not very good on a computer as most can tell by misspelled words. Hope to help if I can and I enjoy the forum. TP
