The 1959 manual has the changes to the flight pitch tranny. Rebuilders recommend using the 1959 info, not the 1958 info, when servicing or rebuilding.

Here is a link to an article about the flight pitch written by a BCA member who has rebuilt several of them:

The torque ball seal kit can be purchased from CARS, Inc: http://www.oldbuickparts.com/catalog/up-to-1960-buick-c-76.html

You would need to call them to see if they have the torque converter seal or any other seals for the Flight Pitch - they sometimes get NOS parts and kits. I have seen the lip seal kits come up on ebay a few times, I bought one for myself. As far as I know, there is no one reproducing Flight Pitch kits.

My flight pitch trans is leaking a lot of fluid as the car is running. I don't know transmissions very well. Is the problem likely the torque converter seal? Anyone know more about these that can offer some insight?
