Hi all,
I have noticed from photos on the internet, that some horns on the 58 Buicks are like.... stocky things with a short bell shaped "mouth"
On my 58 Century, I have 2 long trumpet shaped horns... I was wondering if these are incorrect for the car.
They have a roundy shaped "pot" and then a slim tapering tube which is quite long (about a foot) and it expands into the trumpet like mouth.

ceejay,
here is a picture of a horn from the 1958 Chassis Service Manual. from your post, it sounds like your first description; your 'long trumpet shaped horns' sound like an aftermarket replacement.
i have included another picture of a pair of '58 horns that i found on the internet as well.
