Hi All first post. I own a 58 special model 41 that arrived in SA in 1958 as a Complete knock down , and was assembled by general motors in Port Elazabeth. These CKD s differed to the USA versions , mainly in the interior trim . Door cards were different as were the seat material ( Leather ) as well as the pattern. The dash was not padded, and local material used for carpets . The lower compression motor was fitted , and ran a 2 barrel carter carburettor, all coupled to the Dynaflow box . Colours were similar , mine is a pink .I estimate aprox 250/300 cars were assembled here .Are there any other members who are aware of these 58 buicks .
