1958 buick wagon interior

I am putting back the interior bits and pieces on my 49D Estate Wagon, 1958 Buick. I am wondering where I can find/buy the square to round defroster/heater hose that goes from the plenum inside the car to the actual steel duct work. Is it a steel piece or material similiar to the plastic/fibre duct work that goes to the defrosters etc.?

Also wondering where the gas gauge should read when the ignition is off.
