Limited moved and washed for the first time in 37 years

Post by okccadman »

We got her picked up last week just before the snow and ice hit. She looks like a different car with aire up tires and unstuck from here resting place since 1976.

Very nice! What are your plans for her? Does the motor run? Goodluck, Charlie

Looks better up and off the ground. Good solid body to work with, the big rear chrome behind the rear wheels looks good but I can't see the bottom edge - commonly rusted out, as are the lower rear bumper rails. If these are good on your car, you are ahead of the game.

Do you have the lower trim for the rear window? If not, I have one. Let me know if you need it.

I do have the lower window trim. It was loose so we took it off before transporting. We haven't gotten it off the trailer yet do to the snow and ice storm mother nature gifted us with. I didn't see any large gaping holes in the floorpan. I'm sure there will be some areas that need attention once we pull the carpet up. That appears to be standard equipment on GM cars of this vintage. the lower wide chrome pieces and bumper appear solid. The leather and vinyl trim on the interior are still soft and complete but the cloth, carpet and headliner need attention.

Do you have any pics of your 57 Safari? I have found 2 57 Transcontinental Safaris just sitting within 40 miles of my house and neither owner is willing to sell them.

Unfortunately we haven't made room for Betty inside yet. The 40 LaSalle is gone and the 54 Caddy leaves this week so we can get her in and start checking her out.
