gas tank replacement

Looking for a gas tank replacement for my special. has anyone had any luck finding anything. It dosent have to be exact or perfect as my car is a custom any way. pretty much anything that will fit.

I have a gas tank from a Super that is solid (although I would have it cleaned and sealed just in case). I'll look in my parts book to see if it is the same one used in a Special - I would think it would be the same.

The gas tank for a Special has a different part number than for a Super.

Special = group 3.001 # 1181144

Super = group 3.001 #1181145

I would imagine that the capacity is the same and the difference is the length of the filler neck so modification should be easy: just cut a section out and splice with large rubber hose used for filler necks on later model cars.

Does anyone know if there are any other differences?
